"Great Sound, Frustrating License Setup"
3 stars from me. Soundtoys plugins sound great, and I do use them a lot, but the iLok/license side of things is still annoying. I got everything set up eventually, so it’s not a total disaster, but switching between my laptop and my studio computer wasn’t as easy as I expected. I had to log in and fiddle with things more than I wanted to. The plugins themselves are excellent, I just wish the license system felt smoother and less in the way...

"I really like how these plugins sound, they’re..."
I really like how these plugins sound, they’re solid. But once I’m in a bigger session, dealing with the latency starts to feel kinda clunky and annoying sometimes. Not a dealbreaker, just something that gets in the way when I’m trying to work fastt.

"The demo trial honestly felt like a trap"
I signed up for the demo trial thinking I could test things out quickly, but it kept glitching on me the whole time. I reached out to support and never got any real help, so I was just stuck there trying to make it work with no answers. It was frustrating and made the whole trial feel like more of a headache than anything useful.

"It’s been really easy to automate..."
It’s been really easy to automate the stuff I need, it just kind of stays out of the way. Like, I can keep my sessions going without it fighting me or causing weird interruptions, which is exactly what I wanted.

"So much depth without getting cluttered!!"
I’ve been using Soundtoys for a while now, and I’m still finding little settings I somehow missed before!! The delays, filters, and pitch tools have a ton of depth, but they never feel overwhelming or messy. The presets are actually really useful too, though tweaking things yourself is where it gets really fun.

"Pretty much has what I need !"
I’ve been using it and honestly , it has almost everything I need . There are maybe a couple little things I’d add , but overall it’s been really handy and I’m happy with it

"Downloaded it from soundtoys.com and it…"
Downloaded it from soundtoys.com and it was painless. The installer was straightforward, I just kind of followed the prompts and didn’t really have to think too hard about it. After restarting Ableton, the plugins showed up like they were supposed to, so that was a relief. The only thing that slowed me down a bit was the whole license/iLok part, I had to poke around for a few minutes to figure out what it wanted, but once I got past that it was fine. Not perfect, but smooth enough overall. I’d give it 4 stars.

"Presets felt underwhelming"
I picked up Soundtoys thinking the presets would help me get ideas going quickly, but most of them sounded either thin or way too exaggerated right out of the box. My brother and I were messing around with a few tracks, and we both ended up having to tweak almost everything before it felt usable. The plugins themselves might be solid, but the preset quality was definitely a letdown for me.

"Cool look, but a bit clunky to use"
The site has a nice vibe and looks cool, but actually using it felt a little clunky. The menus were kind of confusing, and finding the checkout took longer than it should have. Some of the extra steps felt unnecessary...

"I’ve been using Soundtoys in both…"
I’ve been using Soundtoys in both Ableton and Logic, and it’s been a smooth experience. I did run into one plugin scan issue after an update, but a quick reinstall fixed it right away. Overall, they’ve been reliable, sound great, and feel like a worthwhile addition to my setup...

"Account management needs to be smoother"
My account works fine for the most part, but trying to update my details and look up older orders was more frustrating than it should’ve been. It felt a bit clunky and not very intuitive. Support did help me in the end, which I appreciate, but it took longer than I think is reasonable. If customers are expected to manage their info online, the tools should work better and the company should be more accountable for making that process simple.

"I’ll admit I was a little worried this..."
I’ll admit I was a little worried this would be one of those features that sounds cooler than it actually is, but the routing is really handy. It took me a bit to figure out where everything was and how to set up stranger effect chains, but once it clicked, it felt solid. I like being able to experiment without feeling boxed in.

"Flexible modulation that’s worth learning"
After using it in a few mixes, I’ve really come to appreciate how much control the modulation gives you. You can shift and shape sounds in a lot of useful ways without it feeling completely overwhelming. It did take me a bit to get comfortable with a few parts, and some areas of the interface feel a little dated, but once I got the hang of it, it fit into my workflow nicely. Overall, it’s been a solid tool for adding movement and keeping things interesting.

"Support was slow"
Plugins are okay. Support, not so much. Took days to hear back, and the reply didn’t really solve it. Ended up figuring it out myself. Not awful, just frustrating.

The plugins keep crashing my sessions, it’s been really annoying lately. I’m just trying to get things done and it keeps interrupting my flow

"Trusted my gut and it worked out"
I had one small hiccup during the license activation, but nothing major. I trusted my instinct, tried again, and it ended up activating just fine.

"Great deal if you catch a sale"
I grabbed a Soundtoys bundle during a discount and, uh, it ended up being way cheaper than I expected. Their pricing feels fair if you’re willing to wait for a deal. Really happy I went for it.

"and it runs surprisingly smooth"
i’ve been using Soundtoys on a bunch of different tracks and the CPU hit hasn’t been bad at all. Even with a few instances open, my sessions still feel smooth. Some plugins can start weighing things down quickly, but these have been easy on my laptop. I’m really happy with it

"I’ve been using Soundtoys plugins for a while…"
I’ve been using Soundtoys plugins for a while now, they’ve ended up being even better than I expected. I figured they’d be good because people talk them up a lot, but Decapitator and EchoBoy especially really do have that warm, natural sound that doesn’t feel fake or overly digital like some other plugins I’ve tried. I use them on vocals, drums, and even random synth parts, and they almost always help things sit better in the mix. I don’t have much to complain about, they just sound really solid.

"Fun for creative effects, but not my everyday pick"
Soundtoys plugins are definitely fun to play around with, especially when I’m in the mood for strange delays or more experimental effects. My gut feeling is that they’re great for sparking ideas and getting something interesting going fast. That said, some of them feel a little clunky to use, and the look feels kind of dated to me. I like the sounds, but I don’t find myself reaching for them every single time. Overall, they land somewhere in the middle for me
